Having run out of thread during surgery,
in order that he might get closure he
substituted for thread
some hair off his head.
Now whiskers appear where the scar should be.

Yeah. It's a groaner.
I started out trying to make a response to your "hosiery" one, but ended up with "closure he" and just kind of ran with it. I'm happy with where it ended up.
